Carrara Marble Water Stains

Iron deposits that are embedded in white marble tile especially carrara marble are typically the cause of this type of stain. How do you make a marble poultice. Over time the water will begin to rust the metallic deposits inside the stone and create a yellowish stain inside the stone.

Remove more difficult stains and water spots with a thick paste of baking soda and water. In situations where the carrara marble is constantly exposed to water the water can absorb and oxidize the iron so it rusts. Rust stains carrara marble contains little bits of iron. Don t use soap as it is fat based and can cause the stone to darken.

You can use a cleaner specifically meant for marble or store bought detergent. The process of making a marble poultice is very important considering that most of the stains can be removed. Marble is not very absorbent so it does not stain easily. A marble stain is when a substance is absorbed into the pores of the marble.

Depending on what the specific stain is the solvent can be 6 percent hydrogen. A yellow brownish stain has begun to appear on the marble bench slab. Vinegar ammonia hydrogen peroxide lemon orange or other citrus cleaners cleaners that are acidic. When water is cyclically applied to carrara marble the water will penetrate the marble surface time and time again.

As the water evaporates it moves to the surface carrying the rust with it creating a rust stain.
